Blog Uses in Education

There are a few blog uses that teachers and students can explore. Here are a few tips taken from a Computer Assisted Language Learning Course 2010.

1. Teacher Reflection Blogs:
    a. Reflect on professional practice
    b. Share teaching activities and ideas
    c. Get feedback on teaching ideas
    d. Meet other teachers
    e. Comment ono blogs and receive comments
    f. Build you PLN (Personal Learning Network)

2. Tutor Blogs:
    a. Set homework
    b. Give feedback
    c. Provide extra reading practice
    d. Provide a summary ofo class work
    e. Provide links to extra online resources (grammar/reading/listening material, etc.)
    f. Encourage out of class discussion
    g. Exam/ study tips
    h. Question and answer (e.g. about grammar, class work)

3. Student Blogs:
    a. Personal and family information (including photos)
    b. Online portfolio of written work
    c. Extra writing practice on class topics
    d. Regular comments on current affairs
    e. Student learner journal
    f. Research and present information on a topic
    g. A photoblog on learner's country, last holiday, town

4. Class Blogs:
    a. Reactions to film, articles, class topic, current affairs
    b. A class project on any topic
    c. Things learners like/ don't like doing in class
    d. Help foster sense of community
    e. Encourage shy students
